These terms cover your use of Confessly, a Discord bot developed by MrGoofy. By inviting, configuring, or using the bot, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Confessly.
What Confessly does
Confessly lets members submit text through Discord’s /confess command and publishes it without submitter details in the resulting post. Server administrators or members with Manage Server permission can configure a single destination channel or eligible text channels across the server with /setup.
Your responsibilities
Use Confessly lawfully, respectfully, and in line with Discord’s terms and community guidelines. You are responsible for the content you submit and for considering its impact on others. Do not submit or encourage content that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, discriminatory, or intended to expose someone’s private information.
Anonymous confession rules
Do not use the anonymous format to target, intimidate, threaten, impersonate, or harass another person. Do not share personal or confidential information about someone without permission. Confessly does not identify the author in the published embed, but Discord and server-level records may still associate a command interaction with an account. Anonymity is not a promise that a submission cannot be traced or inferred.
Server administrator responsibilities
Administrators and moderators choose where confessions are posted and are responsible for channel permissions, community rules, moderation, and explaining the feature to members. The bot requires appropriate channel permissions to publish messages. Server administrators should monitor destinations and take action on content that violates their rules.
Availability and limitations
Confessly is provided as-is and may be unavailable, delayed, or unable to post because of outages, maintenance, permission changes, Discord API behavior, or other technical limitations. No uptime, uninterrupted operation, or permanent availability is promised. Discord is a separate service and its terms and availability also apply.
Changes or termination
The developer may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Confessly, or restrict access where necessary. You can stop using the bot by removing it from your server. A server’s saved configuration may remain in the bot operator’s SQLite database until it is changed or removed; see the Privacy Policy.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, user-submitted content, actions taken by server members, Discord’s handling of data, or interruptions and failures outside the developer’s reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. These terms are a plain-language service notice, not legal advice or a guarantee of compliance in every jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. The current version will be posted on this page with its latest update date. Continuing to use Confessly after a change means you accept the updated terms.
